About Tombigbee Fiber
Our History
Tombigbee has a longstanding and honored tradition of service to our community.
Over 85 years ago, Tombigbee Electric Power Association was formed to bring reliable and affordable electric power to rural areas of Northeast Mississippi.
Today, Tombigbee has over 44,500 members. And while technology continues to change, Tombigbee’s mission to improve the quality of life for our membership still holds true.
In August 2019, the Tombigbee Board of Directors voted to provide high-speed broadband internet access. This endeavor included building around 4,000 miles of fiber to provide much-needed internet access to all Tombigbee members through its subsidiary Tombigbee Fiber, LLC.
Tombigbee continues to work and build upon its long-standing foundation and remains as committed today as in the past to address the needs of its members.

Tombigbee EPA
Tombigbee Electric Power Association (TEPA) is a non-profit, customer-owned utility that provides electric service to residential, commercial, industrial, and public facilities.
TEPA was granted a charter in 1934 as the Lee County Rural Electric Power Association and opened for business with 6 employees. In 1935, the name was changed to Tombigbee Electric Power Association.
In 1969, TEPA had 1,933 miles of line, 16,505 members, and 95 employees. By 2007, TEPA had 3,814 miles of line, 40,094 customers, and 133 employees.
TEPA has sustained 4 severe ice storms and numerous tornadoes. TEPA’s goals are to bring safe, reliable, and affordable power to our members in a courteous and timely manner, with the highest quality of customer service.

Tombigbee Fiber has been the best addition. They came out and got it connected the same day. It did not take long. We have not had one problem since we opened our account with them in June of last year. Through all the crazy weather and everything, we have had no issues. The kids use the internet for several devices and gaming systems, computers for homework, all of our cells stay connected to it when we are home and it has been amazing! I’m super pleased with them!
